We’re Hiring!

Baldwin Hardwoods is seeking a Sawmill Operator / Lumber Processor to produce one-of-a-kind slabs and lumber products from urban trees. This individual will use our bandsaw mills to process urban logs into slabs and lumber, surface slabs to make them flat, produce dimensional lumber and stack, sort and manage inventory going into and out of the kiln. This person will also support on customer deliveries and flex into the wood shop when needed. 

We’re a small and growing Colorado company. We all wear multiple hats and are committed to delivering one-of-a-kind furniture and hardwood lumber and slabs that inspire and delight our clients. This position is a great opportunity for someone who loves to work with their hands and is looking to grow in a long-term position.


  • Hard working, positive attitude
  • Can accurately measure and cut wood and other materials to size – both live edge slab and dimensional lumber. Using a calculator, able to perform basic math 
  • Mechanically inclined, able to operate and maintain: Chainsaws, skid-loader, forklift (will train on specific equipment)
  • Welding competency (wire-feed, light-gauge steel) 
  • Must have valid driver’s license and follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Other duties as required, including daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment


  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required, associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience operating machinery or small engines and welding preferred 
  • Looking for great attitude and someone who is a good team player and co-worker who shows a willingness to learn and take direction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS include the following (other physical demands may apply):

  • Standing, being active all day 
  • Work can be inside and outside
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour based on experience


  • Paid holidays – 5 major holidays
  • Paid time off


  • 8 Hour Shift (days) – 5 days a week, Mon thru Fri – 40 hrs/ week


  • 1-2 years of experience operating machinery or small engines preferred

Our Team

The Baldwin Hardwoods team is led by owner Ryan Baldwin who oversees furniture production and lumberyard operations. Cara Baldwin oversees marketing, communication and HR. Collen Shein (not pictured) manages our office. Lydia Potter (not pictured) is our summer marketing intern. Joel Peggram handles sales and custom furniture projects. Our shop team includes Jeremy Guiry and Andrew Curtis. Hank Millard lends a hand out at the lumber yard with production.
