There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing great craftsmanship come together with great design… and sometimes, that collaboration earns a spot on national television.

We’re excited to share that Baldwin Hardwoods was featured in an episode of HGTV’s newly rebooted Crashers, where we had the opportunity to collaborate with Colorado interior designer Sadie Leners on a stunning home transformation in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

A Home Designed for Gathering

Homeowners Lily and Will Werthan dreamed of transforming their 1961 home’s unfinished garage into an open, welcoming space where friends and family could gather. With no dedicated dining area and a cramped galley kitchen, they envisioned a home centered around connection – one with room for holiday dinners, game nights, book clubs, and everyday moments together.

Leading the design, Sadie created a warm, inviting space that beautifully balanced natural materials with colorful personality. We were honored to help bring that vision to life.

A Collaboration We’re Proud Of

One of the best parts of this project was working alongside with longtime design partner and friend, Sadie Leners. We’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with her on numerous projects over the years, and we always appreciate her thoughtful approach to design and her attention to every detail.

When she called on us to create custom hardwood pieces for this renovation, we knew the craftsmanship had to match the incredible vision she had for the space. Seeing one of our collaborations featured on HGTV made the experience even more meaningful.

We believe the best projects happen when talented designers, skilled craftspeople, and passionate homeowners come together, and this renovation is a perfect example.

Handcrafted Black Walnut Pieces

For the renovation, our team handcrafted two custom Black Walnut pieces in our Fort Collins shop:

• A 7-foot live edge shelf, showcasing the natural beauty and unique character of Black Walnut.
• A custom box-style mantel, designed to create a timeless focal point while adding warmth and texture to the living space.

Though subtle in scale, these handcrafted elements help anchor the room and bring the warmth of natural hardwood into the heart of the home. Every piece of Black Walnut is unique, and preserving its natural grain and character is what makes projects like this so rewarding.

Bringing Colorado Craftsmanship to a National Audience

Being featured on HGTV is certainly exciting, but what makes this project especially meaningful is that it showcases the incredible talent found right here in Colorado.
