Warm woods, whimsical gallery walls, wooden kitchens, and dramatic home offices are in this year. Here’s how to achieve it!
At Baldwin Hardwoods, we’re committed to staying in touch with design trends, and we’re excited to share a few ideas for 2025 that caught our eye.
Warm Wood Tones
Think Black Walnut or Mahogany. We know it, we love it, and it’s totally in this year!
“While neutral decor has been popular for years, 2025 will see a return to darker woods like walnut. These deeper tones bring warmth and depth, adding a refined richness that enhances the overall feel of a space.” — Meridith Baer
How to do it:
- Incorporate darker toned woods into kitchens, dining rooms, and bedrooms
- Use a stain on lighter wood to achieve a warmer tone, something like General Finishes “Mocha”
- If you already have warm toned woods, consider adding warmer lighting to enhance its richness

Wooden Kitchens
Related to the 2024 trend of biophilia (the human tendency to connect with nature), people are wanting to bring the outdoors in this year. What better way to execute this look than by adding a live edge slab into your space?
“The pandemic reinvigorated the impact of what nature does for us as humans, so the popularity of wood kitchens is likely a way to bring the outdoors in.” — Mandy Cheng
How to do it:
- Pick a slab that works with the other colors and tones in your space, and let us help you create a live edge waterfall counter, breakfast nook, or shelves for your kitchen
- Use hardwood lumber to create drawers and cabinets that will never go out of style
- For a unique touch, try a wooden backsplash
