Bookmatch Slabs
‘Bookmatching’ is the term for joining together two successive cuts from the same tree so the surfaces mirror each other, giving the impression of an “opened book.”
We offer the following approaches:
- Direct Bookmatch – Joined slabs create a mirrored effect – usually with the live edges on the outside of the piece
- Top-to-Tail – Joined slabs after turning one 180 degrees so the top of one slab meets the tail of the other
- River Table – Leaving a space between the slabs for decorative joinery or epoxy. One option is to turn the live edges inward, so the epoxy or joinery is in the center of the table. Click here to see examples in our portfolio.
Depending on the desired width of your piece, you might choose two, three or even four slabs to achieve your desired size. Our team will customize the piece per your specifications to ensure it fits perfectly in your space.
