While working with you on your custom live edge project, we occasionally get left with some unused pieces. Maybe we cut off one edge so your bar top can be flush against the wall, or we need your slab to be a bit shorter and we end up with remnants. With a focus on sustainability, one of our favorite things to do is to turn these leftovers into beautiful, functional pieces for your home!
At the end of 2024, we created a live edge floating desktop for the Peters family. We ended that project with two small, beautiful remnants. The clients let us know that they were planning to finish decorating their basement, so we knew we could create functional, new pieces to match their aesthetic and use the rest of their stunning Black Walnut slab.
We decided that while we were creating a pub table for their pool table area, we would utilize their remnants and craft a coffee table and live edge drink ledge.
We used our Hard Wax Oil finish on all three pieces, which will be durable and easy to touch up if needed.
To match the decor and tones they already have in their home, the clients decided that they wanted a mixture of light and dark toned Black Walnut. We think it looks phenomenal, and we had a blast finding new ways to use the leftover pieces from their last project.
This family loves entertaining, and we hope they create many fun memories around these pieces for years to come!
We also just recently wrapped up a project for the Schiffers family. Their project utilized a large Black Walnut slab that we transformed into a countertop overlay on their kitchen island. Shortly before our craftsmen were preparing to install the finished piece, we realized we had some small remnants that could be used in their space.
After collaborating with our clients, we decided that some live edge floating shelves would look fantastic above their coffee station.
We think that it looks amazing and matches the tones of their other Walnut fixtures perfectly. We hope they love it as much as we do!
