We’re Seeking a Retail Associate for Local Showroom

We are seeking a part- to full-time Retail Associate (20-30 hours/week depending on business needs) to play an important role on our team, working to help customers and facilitate sales of hardwood lumber, live edge slabs and woodworking products. This 20-30 hour/week role will be based in our retail showroom, with opportunities to grow and support the business in other ways as opportunities arise. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Providing Great Client Service – Greeting customers and helping them select dimensional wood, live edge slabs and woodworking products in our retail showroom 
• Maintaining our Showroom – Keeping our showroom tidy and organized, keeping inventory updated and restocked  
• Supporting Sales and Marketing – Helping execute sales and promotions and gathering and producing content for newsletters, social media and events

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – both digital (email) and in person / phone  
• Self-driven, takes initiative and able to execute and prioritize without direct supervision 
• Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor 
• Diligent in using our customer relationship management (CRM) system and keeping accurate records to ensure good communication across the company 

REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years of retail sales or customer service experience preferred, including use of CRM systems to manage and track sales activity 
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, construction management, building technology, industrial design, interior design or related discipline preferred
  • Current students encouraged to apply
• Bonus skills / experience: 
  • Marketing, creative writing, social media content creation, B2C communications
  • Construction, home building, trim carpentry or other woodworking experience    
  • Graphic design or industrial design experience, including familiarity with SketchUp or CAD programs 
• Positive attitude and a team player – we seek a great co-worker who shows willingness to learn and grow
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle. 

PAYSCALE

• $17-$20/hour (depending on experience)

SCHEDULE

• Part time – 20-30 hours / week 
• Mon – Fri, rotating in Saturdays with the team  
• Schedule flexibility

• Some local travel required 

PAY FREQUENCY

• Bi-weekly
