We’re Seeking a Driven and Dynamic Sales Associate

Since 2008, Baldwin Hardwoods has delivered high quality custom furniture and hardwood lumber and slabs that inspire and delight our clients. 

We are seeking a driven and dynamic Sales Associate to play an important role on our team, working closely with commercial and residential clients to bring custom furniture projects to life – from concept to completion – and facilitate sales of hardwood lumber and slabs. This full-time role will involve the following activities:  

  • Working closely with clients to conceptualize, design, execute and deliver one-of-a-kind custom furniture projects for commercial and residential applications 
  • Advising customers on selecting dimensional wood, live edge slabs and woodworking products in our retail showroom 



  • Provide great client service: Provide quick and accurate responses to client questions and maintain our high standard for customer service
  • Cultivate and grow our client base: Strengthen relationships with existing customers and proactively connect with new customers using existing channels and creative new approaches 
  • Engage with and support customers: Work with showroom visitors, answer questions, help customers select products and kick off new custom furniture projects 
  • Design furniture projects: Working with our existing catalog of designs, use SketchUp or a comparable design program to create digital drawings for customer approval and to provide direction to our skilled craftsmen. (Will train on Google SketchUp, but some experience is a bonus


  • Hitting weekly and monthly sales goals through proactive outreach and timely client communication focused on creating furniture project proposals, gaining approval and moving projects into production 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – both digital (email) and in person / phone  
  • Diligent in using our customer relationships management (CRM) system and keeping accurate records to ensure good communication across the company. 
  • Results-oriented, with ability to run reports and track business metrics on an ongoing basis
  • Self-driven, takes initiative and able to execute and prioritize without direct supervision 
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor 


  • 2-5 years of retail sales or customer service experience preferred, including use of CRM systems to manage and track sales activity 
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, building technology, industrial design, interior design or related discipline preferred
  • Bonus skills / experience: 
    • Construction, home building, trim carpentry or other woodworking experience    
    • Graphic design or industrial design experience, including familiarity with SketchUp or CAD programs 
  • Positive attitude and a team player – we seek a great co-worker who shows willingness to learn and grow
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle. 


  • $45,000 – $48,000 salary (depending on experience)
  • Plus commission on custom furniture sales 
  • 50% coverage of health care premiums 


  • Full time – 40 hours / week 
  • Mon – Fri, rotating in Saturdays with the team
